Children participate at their own level in classes of mixed ages by singing , moving , chanting , listening and exploring child-safe percussion instruments with a parent or caregiver who models musical behavior . Regardless of your own musical ability , find fun in this playfully creative environment supporting your child ’ s primary music development .

Wee Little Arts
Teaching the creative process to young artists Instructor : Marg Bucher Ages : 4 – 5
A preschool visual arts program dedicated to engaging and empowering children by helping them to discover the creative process based on four 8-week sessions : Elements of Art , Drawing , Painting and Three Dimensions . The same subjects are taught each year , but with different projects , so a student is not repeating projects , but learning is reinforced and added to with each class . Fundamental elements are introduced and the students apply these elements to their work . A variety of media are used to inspire experimentation . Both traditional and contemporary artists ’ work is shown to expose the students to old and new ideas .

Kosher Round Challah !
The Preschool will be selling Kosher Round Challah for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur . Make sure you have enough of your family ’ s and friends ’ favorites : plain or raisin . For more details and to order , contact the Preschool Office at 545-8615 .
Nature-al Art
An artistic class using elements from nature Instructor : Cath Cowan Ages : 3 – 5 8-week session
In this new class for preschoolers led by instructor Cath Cowan , students will learn how to interact with and embrace the outdoors by using found and recycled materials to create projects . Through their practice and exploration , youngsters will become more familiar with their surroundings and the bountiful surprises tucked away in nature . We will find that there are not only practical applications for the things we discover in our habitat , but that there are fun and imaginative ones as well .
Projects will include watercolor painting with plant dyes , basket weaving with vines and creating a nature kaleidoscope .

Growing Gardeners
Exploring the life cycles and rhythms of the gardens . Instructor : Cath Cowan Ages : 3 - 5 8-week session
Join Garden Specialist Cath Cowan in the Weinstein JCC Edible Schoolyard . Children will learn about what plants need in order to grow , basic gardening tasks and how to use one ’ s senses in the garden . Children will be able to pick , taste and cook with items from the garden . Sign your child up for this fun opportunity to learn and play in the garden !
