Family Programs
Dedicated to providing your entire family with a variety of joyful and fun ways to bring multiple generations together, our Center’s
family programs explore arts, celebrate holidays and embrace our community-wide events. All families are welcome--you don’t need to
be Jewish to find a home at the Weinstein JCC.
For information on Family Programs, contact Leslie McGuigan at 545-8650 or [email protected].
Community-Wide Purim
Carnival
Mark your calendar for the Jewish Community’s
most fun and festive costume party of the year!
The Purim Carnival will have something for
every member of your family to enjoy. Food,
live music, carnival games and prizes, moon
bounces, face painting, balloon animals and
more. All carnival-goers are encouraged to come
in costume to win a prize! In addition, to all of
the fun and games, there will be opportunities
to give back to our community through an
organized tikkun olam project. Donations
of individual-sized foods and snacks will be
collected and carnival goers can participate
by creating “Smile Boxes” for residents of Safe
Harbor Shelter.

“Israel at 70” featuring
Dganit Daddo
The Weinstein JCC in partnership with the Jewish
Community Federation of Richmond invites
the entire community to a 70th independence
celebration for Israel. After a brief, yet
meaningful ceremony to remember the Israeli
fallen soldiers, Israeli singer Dganit Daddo will
perform in her unique style that weaves many
diverse Jewish cultural influences, multiple
languages, and her passion for giving new life
to Jewish music. In addition to a fantastic

musical performance, festival-goers will be
able to sample Israeli food and wine, shop for
Israeli merchandise in our very own shuk, ride
a camel and participate in activities to educate,
entertain and inspire a love for Israel!

Israeli Friendship Caravan
What better way to cap off a year of celebration
for the 70 th year of independence of Israel
than with a performance by the beloved Israeli
Friendship Caravan! The Caravan is made up
of 10 high school-aged students who travel
throughout the United States performing Israeli
songs and dances. While in Richmond, the
Israeli Scouts stay in homes with members of
our community. If you are interested in hosting
an Israeli Scout this year, please contact
Leslie McGuigan at 545-8659 or lmcguigan@
weinsteinjcc.org for more information.
The Israeli Scouts Friendship Caravan is brought
to the Richmond Jewish Community each year
through the support of the Eddie Lapkin Israeli
Scouts Fund through the Richmond Jewish
Foundation, the Weinstein JCC and individual
and corporate donations.
