Welcome Dear Weinstein JCC Community, It is an honor to have been selected by the search committee and the Board of Directors as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in JCCs across North America, beginning in Jacksonville, Florida and most recently working with the JCCs in Toronto, Canada. In that time I have worked closely alongside a variety of boards, leadership and staff, and have learned a tremendous amount about the JCC business and the truly unique membership that we have. In my role as the Weinstein JCC CEO, I will be leveraging my experience to ensure our success as a mission and community-driven nonprofit. I will work to understand and articulate the needs of the community, provide leadership, build resources, sustain a vibrant array of experiences, and ensure the doors of our Center are wide open and inviting to all. My welcome here since my start in mid-October has been very gracious and warm. After working in JCCs of all shapes and sizes, it feels wonderful to be in Richmond, at a JCC and town that is vibrant, inclusive, and thriving. As I spend my time learning the community and the Center, I hope you will come by and say hello. I look forward to working together as we continue to grow and nurture the Richmond and Jewish community that this Center so proudly serves. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2018! Rick Nelson, CEO Our Mission: The Weinstein JCC exists to strengthen Jewish identity and continuity by enriching personal, cultural, social and physical development, by fostering leadership and by promoting the welfare of the Jewish community and the community as a whole. 2 Weinstein JCC | 2018 Winter - Spring Activity Guide
