Active Adults The 5400 Club This group, consisting of retired and semiretired men and women ages 60+ meets each Monday throughout the year. Each meeting features an outstanding guest speaker. Membership in The 5400 Club is open to all male/female Weinstein JCC members. This group is a self-governing organization with its own board, assisted by the Weinstein JCC Adult Programming Coordinator. Feel free to come as our guest and bring your friends! Mondays 12:00 – 12:30 pm: Lunch (Bring your own and join us, dessert provided.) 12:30 – 1:30 pm: Program Cost: $25 per year Membership is open to all JCC Members Grand Tones The performing arm of our Active Adult Programs. Preparations are always under way for performances at nursing homes, organizations, hospitals, churches, synagogues and civic functions. The Grand Tones are now over 50 years running under the direction of volunteer Betsy Cockriel and are joined by pianist Frances Gordon. If you love music but are not a singer, you are still welcome to join us just to listen, have lunch and socialize! Tuesdays 11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Rehearsal time 12:00 pm: Lunch (Bring your own and join us. Dessert provided.) Tuesday Adult Programming (TAP) 10th Annual Weinstein JCC Game Day This program meets every Tuesday year round, and is for adult men and women. The weekly agenda features programs including entertainment, guest speakers, current events and intergenerational programs. TAP members enjoy celebrating many of the holidays and events, including a Chanukah party with the Weinstein JCC Preschool children and a Sweetheart Day luncheon. Ages: 18+ Tuesdays 12:00 pm: Join the Grand Tones for lunchtime. (Bring your own and join us. Desser t, coffee & tea provided.) 12:30 – 1:30 pm: Varied weekly program and activities Cost: $28 per year Membership is open to all JCC Members Thursdays On The Move NEW This new program will offer a fun-filled day trip once a month to area museums, restaurants, sight seeing, etc. Destination suggestions from participants are appreciated! Transportation from the Weinstein JCC will be provided. Cost and length of trip will depend on destination. Sweetheart Day One of our favorite active adult events of the year! Facilitator: Shari Menlowe-Barck Ages: 60+ This is a special active adult luncheon that has been in place for 15+ years. Join us and help celebrate “love” through music and dancing, a seated lunch and camaraderie with friends. Created by Denise Medved, the program consists of 21 simple exercise tools designed for all ages and abilities. These exercises, based on everyday movements that are natural and organic, focus on the healthy longevity of the body and mind. The 21 Tools have creative, imaginative names, so they are easy to remember. They are simple to do at home. The movements are designed to be performed seated in a chair, yet they can be done on a bed, standing near or behind a chair, down on the floor, or standing. Almost anyone can do them, regardless of most physical conditions.
