Grab your cross-country skis and join us for an early morning guided
glide. If snow is lacking or conditions are poor, we will walk instead.
Follow the trails and learn about local natural history. Hot cocoa/cider
will be served afterwards. Participants must bring their own skis. (rf)

Help clear invasive plants, cut and stack brush, plant native flowers,
trees and seeds, maintain trails and more. Please bring gloves if you
have them – we will supply the tools, safety glasses and extra gloves.
This is a great opportunity for scouts, families, and community groups.

These casual walks will be at a leisurely pace – rain, snow or shine.
Learn a little about the parks, the efforts underway to improve the
natural features, and look for interesting wildlife and plants along
the way. For Village Green please meet outside of the main garage/
concession building. At Maryknoll, we will meet near the pavilion in
the smaller parking lot. For Churchill Woods Forest Preserve, please
meet in the far eastern parking lot. At Churchill Park, meet in the main
parking lot on St. Charles Rd., located just east of Bloomingdale Rd. (rf)

Holiday Lights Recycling

Do you have a set of holiday lights or an extension cord that you can’t get to work? Don’t
throw them in the garbage. You can recycle them free of charge! Each winter, the Glen
Ellyn Park District partners with Elgin Recycling (www.elginrecycling.com) to provide
holiday light recycling at our facilities. The donated lights/cords may be in any condition.
