Pete the Cat StoryWalk®
Held at Prairie Path Park

Help Pete the Cat unveil the new StoryWalk® book at Prairie Path
Park! There will be giveaways, cute photo ops, and lots of cat hugs!
StoryWalk® is an interactive and exciting way for children – and adults
– to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages from the
children’s book are placed on permanent signs along the walkway.
Books are changed out periodically. This event is in partnership with
the Glen Ellyn Public Library. In case of inclement weather, the event
will take place in the Youth Department at the Library. (jm)

Age: 3-5 with Adult
Bring your little one for an hour of dinosaur discovery fun! They will
see and touch real dinosaur fossils, listen to a story, make a craft to
take home and dig in the sand to assemble dinosaur puzzle pieces.
They’ll even get to sit on our Triceratops Sarah (Playschool’s Kota) for
a fun photo! So much fun packed into an hour, don’t miss this fun
summer program! Instructor: T-Rexplorers. Min/Max: 6/12. (jr)

STICKY FINGERS COOKING
Summer Reading Ice Cream Social
Held at Glen Ellyn Public Library
Age: All
Kick off the start of summer and Glen Ellyn Public Library’s 'Game On:
Summer Challenge' with ice cream sundaes, ice pops, and fresh fruit at
the library’s 13th annual ice cream social. There will also be games and
entertainment for everyone. (jm)

Sticky Fingers Cooking Class
Held at Spring Avenue Recreation Center
Age: 4-6
Students will prepare and eat healthy, globally-inspired recipes all
while learning to cook in a fun, engaging and real-world way! Our
Chefs will reinforce kitchen skills associated with our weekly recipes
and emphasize each area of cooking – terminology, ingredients and
fun nutrition facts. We will practice measurements, use a wide array of
cooking utensils all while preparing the freshest ingredients. Instructor:
Sticky Fingers Cooking. Min/Max: 8/12. (jm)

Come out to your favorite neighborhood parks for stories, music and
movement with the Glen Ellyn Park District and Public Library. Don’t
forget to bring a blanket and bug spray! Each week we’ll explore a
different theme of books and music. These events will run weather
