Join us for an afternoon in the park. Bring a picnic lunch, tour the newly renovated
LEED-certified Boathouse. Guided walks will be given of the woodland restoration
area. Local environmental groups will be present to share ideas on sustainable
lifestyles. Canoes and kayaks will be available for rental. Kids can complete a
passport while visiting educational stations throughout the park. Rain barrels will be
available for purchase at this event. [RF]

Touch-A-Truck
Age: All
Ever wanted to get your hands on big trucks you see driving around town? This is
your chance to climb inside dump trucks, fire trucks, police cars, and other vehicles
you see on the road and at construction sites. We’ll have giveaways until supplies
last! There will also be a horn free hour from 10-11am for those with sensitive ears or
those who don’t like loud noises. Registration is not necessary for this program.
Please note that there is no parking available inside Maryknoll Park. Event parking
and a complimentary shuttle is available at Roosevelt Glen Corporate Center located
at 799 Roosevelt Rd. [JM]

Bike Rodeo
Age: All
Join the Park District and the Glen Ellyn Police Department in conjunction with
Northwestern Medicine, The Bike Hub and the Glen Ellyn Public Library for a Bike
Safety Rodeo! Kids will learn important rules of the road and have a chance to test
their knowledge on a miniature riding course. Participants must bring their own bike
and wear a properly fitted bike helmet to participate in the riding course. There will
also be on the spot bike checks, a bike decorating station, safety demonstrations,
and even a few bike raffles! This event will run weather permitting. [JM]
