Join us for a sunset hike to search for hidden ghosts throughout
Churchill Park. Successfully find all the ghosts and answer a few nature
trivia questions - win a fun Halloween surprise! Please park at Churchill
school and meet at the picnic tables near the school’s gymnasium.
Bring a flashlight! This is a non-scary event. Fee is per child. Adult

natural history and science in the process? These casual walks will be
at a leisurely pace, rain or shine. For Ackerman Park, please meet by
the woods along the entrance drive, across from Parkview Church. For
Churchill Park, we will meet in the main parking lot, at 271 St. Charles
Road. For Lake Ellyn Park, meet in front of the Boathouse. [RF]

Parks and learn how to immerse yourself in natural settings through
mindful movements and observations, gain insights about local
ecology, and better understand the physical and mental benefits of this

Looking to add a tree or shrub to your yard? Consider a native
species that requires less maintenance, is adapted to our
regional climate, and supports wildlife. The Park District, The
Conservation Foundation, and the Glen Ellyn Environmental
Commission are partnering to offer this opportunity. Plants
come in a 5-gallon sized container and should be able to fit in
most standard vehicles for transporting home.

Over 25 trees and shrubs are available to choose from including
Meadowsweet, American Hazelnut, Blue Beech and Bur Oak. A
list of all the species available for purchase, plants descriptions,
and the order form can be found at

Pick-Up Information
Pick-up will be on Saturday, September 29th between
9am- 11am at Sunset Park & Pool, 483 Fairview Avenue, Glen
Ellyn. Orders must be received by Friday, September 21.
