Special Events Holiday Fun! Candy Cane Hunt Age: 2-8 Hundreds of candy canes will be hidden, just waiting to be found at the Candy Cane Hunt. This event includes a fun candy cane inspired craft, and story-time before we head outdoors for the hunt. In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be inside, on the first and second floors of the recreation center. In addition to the regular candy canes, there will be a special candy canes that will lead to an extra special treat. Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Min/Max: 20/40. Wear your jammies for a fantastical time of wonder and magic as we journey to the North Pole! We depart for a ride to the North Pole that includes storytelling, snacks, Christmas carols and a visit from Santa! [JR] Children 1 year and older must register in advance with a registered adult. Choose gift certificate or book when registering, there is one book or certificate per registered house address. We have limited space on the train; please leave strollers and car seats in the car when boarding the train. All registrants must have a wristband in order to board the train. We will mail train tickets, wristbands, and day-of event instructions in late November. Watch for your envelope to arrive, marked “POLAR EXPRESS INFORMATION ENCLOSED”. POLAR EXPRESS DATES Please look for event dates and times to be announced late September. Due to reservation policies with Metra, we do not have dates and times available for the Polar Express at this time.
