Generel Description

The whole project and the outputs, that is the creation of a gallery of short films and the two magazines, will enable students and teachers to learn about European cultures and to discover what young Europeans of today have in common and what they can share and learn from the others.

The focus of this project, that is intercultural dialogue, aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills - so-called intercultural competences - to participate in increasingly diverse societies. Knowledge about other cultures contributes to mutual respect, understanding and dialogue as much as knowledge of democratic values, citizenship and civil rights.

Then, as it is based on an action-oriented approach - advocated by European education authorities - the project also encourages learners of English to be active, encouraging them to perform concrete and complex tasks that not only require the use of language skills but also of practical ones (organisational, action, communication skills, e.g.). By its nature, the objectives it sets and the resulting activities and outputs, the project fully matches with this approach.

In addition, this project will also motivate students for school subjects and attitudes by providing a meaningful and concrete learning context.and modern society but also in their personal liv dialogue.

ABOUT ACTION!

This project offers the opportunity to implement project-based teaching in order to give meaning to learning at school. It offers a motivating and inclusive approach that will help students develop transversal and transferable skills and encourage them to use extracurricular skills to face more academic challenges.

That's why this project can be considered an effective tool to fight against early school leaving, which has become a major European issue in education. Indeed, young people

who are about to drop out of education

need to study in learning environments

that help them to regain confidence in themselves and in learning. This project

can be used as a preventive measure as it provides high quality, constructive and innovative education.

The objectives of this project match with

the key competences defined by the

European Union as essential skills and

attitudes for young Europeans to succeed not only in today's economy and modern society

but also in their personal lives.

In addition some of the objectives rely on the transnational dimension of the project, such as the ability to speak foreign languages, cultural awareness and intercultural dialogue.
