Aldis was presented the Minnesota Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) Honor Award for dance.  Whitcomb selected as Schmitt Music Educator of the Year Michelle Zimmerman, principal of Lincoln Elementary for the Arts, recognized Andrea Whitcomb, music teacher, for being named Minnesota’s Schmitt Music Educator of the Year. 2019 Section 7AA Coaches of the Year Eric Lehtola, activities director of Andover High School, presented Tracey Greiss, girls soccer coach, and John Schlichtmann, boys soccer coach, with 2019 Section Coach of the Year awards. Andover High School Recognitions: Boys Soccer All-State student-athletes John Schlichtmann, Andover High School boys soccer coach, recognized student-athletes Eric Chartier, grade 12, Alex Cole, grade 11, and Noah Eklund, grade 11, for being named to the Minnesota All-State Soccer team. Girls Soccer All-State student-athletes Tracey Greiss, Andover High School girls soccer coach, recognized student-athletes Kaila Gillespie, grade 12, Kelsey Kallio, grade 12, and Olivia Knoepfle, grade 11, for being named to the Minnesota All-State Soccer team. Girls Swim and Dive Lee Raihle, Andover High School girls dive team coach, was recognized as Assistant Coach of the Year for Minnesota. Raihle recognized senior Brenna Russell for being named diver of the year in Section 7AA and for her All-State Swimming and Diving nomination. Russell took sixth place in state. Marcia Ford, Andover High School swim and dive coach, recognized the following students in the following events: Grace Rabb, grade seven (All-State Swimming; 200 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay), Charlotte Lidberg, grade 10 (All-State Swimming; 200 Medley Relay), Emily Pawlaski, grade 11 (All-State Swimming; 200 Medley Relay, 50 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 400 Freestyle Relay), Elsie Groebner, grade 11 (All-State Swimming; 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay), and Talia Dalton, grade 10 (All-State Swimming; 400 Freestyle Relay). Marching Band Doug Bakkum, marching band director, and Samantha Springer, marching band director, recognized the following students for being named Class A state champions.  Grade nine: Quinton Allenson, Jacob Bloom, Samantha Fernandez, Gage Law, Natalie Mattson, Ryan Mickelborough, Avery Nottingham, Megan Peters, and Landen Ramnath.
