Recognitions Anoka Middle School for the Arts Dr. Eric Melbye, associate superintendent for middle schools and student services, introduced Jerri McGonigal, principal of Anoka Middle School for the Arts, and Dr. Jolanda Dranchak, curriculum integrator at Anoka Middle School for the Arts, who received national recognition from the National Council for Teachers of English for the AMSA literary magazine, “The Storm.” Coon Rapids Middle School Dr. Eric Melbye, associate superintendent for middle schools and student services, presented Coon Rapids Middle School principal Tom Shaw for the school’s work with Youth First Community of Promise for Youth Programming.  Volunteer Recognition Week 2020 Marci Anderson, board chair, highlighted work done by nearly 17,000 volunteers in Anoka-Hennepin schools over the 2019-20 school year.  Communications, delegations and petitions The School Board did not receive any testimony from the community. Employee services The School Board took actions regarding employees and positions in the district in relation to a reporting timeline needed to comply with contracts and state requirements. Sarah Kriewall, director of employee services, presented items for approval and one item for information only. Resolutions were approved with a unanimous vote. Resolution relating to the termination and non-renewal of teaching contracts of probationary teachers The School Board approved the resolution in compliance with Minnesota Statute 122A.40, sub. 5. The action is considered a routine matter conducted annually by the board. For information only: long-term substitute teachers, intern teachers, re-employed retired teachers The board reviewed a listing of employees whose contracts with the district are due to expire at the end of the school year. Resolution to rescind the inclusion of certain teachers’ names in resolution terminating probationary teachers. The School Board reviewed terms and conditions of the resolution and approved the resolution on a unanimous vote.  1
