Employee services The School Board took actions regarding employees and positions in the district in relation to a reporting timeline needed to comply with contracts and state requirements. Sarah Kriewall, director of employee services, presented items for approval and one item for information only. Resolutions were approved with a unanimous vote. Resolution discontinuing and reducing educational programs and positions The resolution eliminates teacher full-time equivalent positions due to staffing efficiencies, student registrations and undetermined federal funding. Resolution relating to the termination and non-renewal of teaching contracts of probationary teachers The School Board approved the resolution in compliance with Minnesota Statute 122A.40, sub. 5. The action is considered a routine matter conducted annually by the board. For information only: long-term substitute teachers, intern teachers, re-employed retired teachers The board reviewed a listing of employees whose contracts with the district are due to expire at the end of the school year. Finance Award sale resolution series 2020A Michelle Vargas, chief financial officer, introduced an agenda item regarding the sale of $93.3 million in general obligation bonds at a true interest cost of 2.796%. These funds will be used to finance construction of the 2017 Fit for the Future Phase 2 projects. Major projects included in this funding are improvements at Anoka Middle School for the Arts, Champlin Brooklyn Park Academy/Jackson Middle School, Coon Rapids High School, Andover High School and Blaine High School. The resolution was approved on a unanimous vote. Labor relations and benefits 2021-22 district calendar, final reading The School Board approved the calendar for the 2021-22 school year on a 5-1 vote with Simon voting no. The calendar is similar in nature to the current year with one exception. The School Board opted to hold school on Nov. 2, 2021, election day, and moved the staff development day proposed for that date to Wednesday, October 20. Consent agenda All items were approved. A.
