ABOUT THE SENIOR
BOX PROGRAM
ACHE- SETC FIGHTS HUNGER
A team of ACHE- SETC Chapter Members volunteered at the Houston Food Bank by participating in the Food Bank?s
Senior Box Program.
The Senior Box Program is a federal program designed to improve the health and nutrition of seniors in our
community that live on a fixed income. Volunteers assembled and filled boxes of food that were distributed to the
seniors in the Program. Each senior received a box of food with a retail value of $50.
At the completion of their shift, the volunteers packaged 1,800 boxes which represents a total of 45,000 meals.
The Chapter applauds each of the volunteers for donating their valuable time and strengths to change the lives of
countless hungry seniors in our region. A special thank you to Tyara Barge for coordinating the event!
