Finding Sources of Lead and Providing Effective
Corrosion Control
1:30–4:30 p.m.
Room: Mandalay Bay Ballroom B
Track: Distribution System Management & Operations
Moderator: Glen Boyd
Utilities are vigilant about distribution system water quality. In
the light of the recent corrosion-related episode in Flint, Michigan,
and the increasing diversification of water supply portfolios, there
has been a closer examination of the methods to find the sources
of lead and tools to evaluate corrosion control effectiveness. This
session looks at studies to identify lead, the impacts of operation
on corrosion and one utility’s history and lessons learned
about corrosion control and what makes a good corrosion
control program.
