Where in the World is Your Pump Operating?
11:00–11:45 p.m.
Exhibit Hall Classroom—Booth #22139
Track: Distribution System Management & Operations
Facilitated by: David Pierce, Specific Energy
Operation of a pump outside its preferred operating range
(POR) rapidly damages the pump, resulting in reduced pump
life. Typically, operators are not given current, field-tested pump
curves or a plot of where each pump is operating on its curve.
These tools are necessary to ensure continuous operation within
POR, thereby extending pump life and saving utilities thousands
of dollars in pump repair costs.
Panelists:
George

Clifford Chan, East Bay Municipal Utility District
Julie Anderson, Denver Water
Colleen Arnold, Aqua America
