In Conclusion
work, spearheaded by Erik Odhner, was done in
preparation for this important visit and it paid off.
The team was very impressed with ANCSS.
The Boys School is a very special place. The men
that I work with and the boys that we work for are
inspiring, committed, and important. I know that
there are few, if any, places better than the Boys
School for boys to learn how to become men in a
spiritually relevant, academically rigorous environment that encourages such varied and meaningful extracurricular involvement. Our mission
is great and our offerings are impressive. But it is
the people living our mission every day that make
us extraordinary. I am blessed to work in a school
wherein I walk the halls on a daily basis and know
in my heart of hearts that “surely, the Lord is in
this place.”
Faculty
This year we welcomed a number of new teachers. Alex Rohtla joined the Science Department,
teaching Introductory Physical Science and Human Anatomy. Kevin Junge joined us as the European History teacher, Senior Seminar instructor,
and college and career counselor. Both of these
gentlemen bring a high level of professionalism
and dedication to their roles and were extremely
successful first-year educators.
We mourned the loss of Mary Beth Bergman
who passed into the spiritual world after a short
retirement from her work at ANCSS. Over the
years, Mary Beth had served a number of important uses. Three of the things for which she is
most clearly remembered are her years as a French
teacher, her time as Delta Mu advisor, and her
many years of counseling services provided for
our students.
