An Interview with Dr. Mitch Avila

Dr. Mitch Avila joined CSU Dominguez Hills June 1, 2015 as dean of College of Arts & Humanities. Previously Dr. Avila worked for the past 17 years at CSU, Fullerton earning a reputation for visionary leadership, efficiency, and innovation as the associate dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as a philosophy professor and chair of the Philosophy department.

I am an empty-nester who lives with his wife after 32 years of marriage in a small studio apartment in Downtown Los Angeles. Yes, we are having a good time. We have both made the commitment to stop driving and start walking and start taking public transportation. On weekends we go to our rather spacious, but now mostly empty, home in Claremont where we enjoy gardening, cooking, and woodworking.
