The King Said,

“We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim

of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality.”

Our World is full of Wonder, Uniqueness, and Beauty.

No other world in this universe is like OURS.

But, there is another side to our world—

A side full of madness, crime, killing, and discrimination.

We aren’t beasts, as some believe, because of our skin color or ethnicity.

We (Black America) are as human as the next. We all live in One World together.

We all bleed red…my momma always said…

Growing up in the hood of Hoover, Alabama, death runs like clock work.

And, when death comes knocking on the door nothing can help.

Our Signs and our Protests, what do they do but cause chaos.

They not bring back the loving child that was shot by the man who bleeds blue.

They not bring back the body laying in the morgue waiting to be identified.

All the family wants is transparency

Has society not learned from the past shootings of African Americans by police

About the innocent 29-year-old Thedoeus who was shot at his own family’s baby shower?

I guess WE have not learned; maybe history does repeat itself…for the worst.

My Mother, Grandmothers, and Aunts always pray for me

Knowing the danger out in the world the moment I step outside my front door.

But prayers didn’t work this time. This time it was me —

Is it my fault I was next?

Is it my fault I am…
