THEME FOR ENGLISH
Bobby Carey, 2018
The coach said,
I wonder if it’s that simple?
I am the small-town kid, seventeen,
Born and raised in Abington,
Soon to walk at graduation and become an adult.
I am the only Bobby Carey in Abington,
Down Gliniewicz Way, across town,
Down route 18, onto Washington Street,
Through the side door, through the kitchen,
Up the stairs and down the hallway,
I rummage through scattered thoughts to attempt to pass my classes.
It’s not easy to know what is true for you or me
In high school, immature and young. But I guess I’m what People tell me I am,
I believe in exactly what people tell me I am,
I’m immature, ridiculous, obnoxious, and I need to grow up,
But yet I’m smart, handsome, ambitious, and I have unused potential.
Well, I like to eat, sleep, drink, love, and have fun.
I like to work out, I like to make people laugh,
I like to improve myself, I like to be alone, I like to keep to myself,
I like cars, I like money, I like being myself.
