Many of us who live outside of our countries of origin develop a sense of belonging even stronger than when we lived in them. It is typical to miss and remember with a certain nostalgia what we no longer have so close. That is why when we talk about our Homeland, the heart swells, the skin bristles and there is always a story to tell.
At ABClatino we met with some residents of the Hudson Valley to ask how they celebrate the independence of their countries. It is not a coincidence that this month five countries of the American continent are celebrating their independence, just as it is that everyone has smiled when they heard the question and that their immediate thought was food!
