Park, and indulge your tastebuds with fresh Tasmanian

Day 1: Welcome to Hobart
Begin your exploration of the beautiful
island of Tasmania with a city sights
tour. Hobart was founded in 1803 and
much of its architecture dates back to
the Victorian and Georgian eras. Visit
the Botanic Gardens, historic Battery
Point, and Constitution Dock, then
drive to Mt. Nelson for panoramic views
over the city and Derwent River. Join
your Travel Director for a Welcome
Reception and dinner. Hotel: Hotel
Grand Chancellor, Hobart, 2 nights. DW
Day 2: Salamanca Market &
Included Choice
This morning, explore the myriad
market stalls of Salamanca Market,
and wander through its historic
sandstone warehouses. This
afternoon choose one from a selection
of Included Choice sightseeing
experiences. Join a walking tour
with a local expert for an insight into
Hobart’s history, people and places or a
guided walk to experience the alcohol
history of the city. Or visit Mawson’s
Huts Replica Museum, replicating
the huts Douglas Mawson built in
Antarctica during his Australasian
Antarctic expedition of 1911-14. B
Day 3: Hobart – Strahan
This morning stroll through rainforest
to the tiered falls of Russell Falls.
Then take the winding road to iconic
Lake St. Clair before traveling to The
Wall in the Wilderness, a monumental
sculpture hand-carved in rare Huon
Pine. Continue through the rainforest,
passing through the moonscape of
the mining town of Queenstown.
Your final stop today is Strahan:
enjoy views of peaceful Macquarie
Harbour from your hillside hotel. Hotel:
Strahan Village, Strahan. B DW
Day 4: Strahan –
Cradle Mountain
A highlight today is your cruise on the
Gordon River. Be awestruck by the dark
waters: stained amber by buttongrass
tannins, which reflect the untouched
wilderness. Stop at Sarah Island for
an insight into a relic of Tasmania’s
convict history, the Macquarie Harbour
Penal Settlement. See Hells Gates , the
notoriously treacherous entrance to
the harbor, and Heritage Landing, site
of a 2,000-year-old Huon Pine. Travel
through the old towns of Rosebery and
Tullah on route to your hotel. Hotel:
Cradle Mountain Hotel, 2 nights. B L DW
Day 5: Cradle Mountain
Marvel at the inspiring beauty of
Cradle Mountain National Park. Join
your Travel Director for a guided walk
by Dove Lake, maybe taking a little
more time later to meander back to
your hotel along the purpose-built
boardwalk through the wild ancient
