Indigenous
What an honor it is for our team to forge such strong relationships with indigenous communities throughout Australia and New Zealand . In New Zealand the Maori culture is ever present throughout all our vacations , but a visit to the Tamaki Family Marae is an opportunity to get truly hands-on . Get a taste of weaving , carving , dancing and even train to be a Maori warrior , then whet your appetite with a traditional Maori hangi feast of food cooked in the ground , and wow , what an experience you ’ ll get if you join us in the Tiwi Islands ! Tiwi Island people are some of the warmest , most smiling individuals you ’ ll cross paths with and how they openly share their stories and culture with guests is phenomenal . It ’ s also very hard to resist purchasing one of the amazing pieces of artwork as a memento of your visit , especially when you ’ ve watched them being painted or carved right before your eyes .
