Professor Bunbury spent 40 years travelling the State making radio features and documentaries for the ABC. He has written 12 books and records interviews for the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia.

Professor Alan Bittles was the recipient of an Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to medical education in the field of genomics, as an academic and researcher, and to professional groups. He said the national recognition was not foreseen but very much welcomed. Presently an Adjunct Professor and Research Leader at Murdoch University’s Centre for Comparative Genomics, Professor Bittles has served as Chair of the Scientific Medical Advisory Committee of Rare Voices Australia.

Professor Bittles has published more than 250 refereed research papers, books, book chapters and conference proceedings, with in excess of 7,500 citations.
