This Alliance provides the bridge to support AAS Members and their families with advocacy services and support when taking on technical or tertiary education in Australia, and to enhance support to the thousands of Australian Alumni Graduates returning home each year.

AAS Institutional alliance with CISA FORGES BILATERAL TIES

University, Curtin University, University of South Australia and University of Queensland. At a national level, CISA lobbies the federal government, peak education sector bodies, and interacts with international education organisations in other countries. On a state level, the CISA Divisions lobby the education providers, state and local government, and interacts with campus-level student organisations.

CISA's priorities include:

- Advocating for the interests and needs of international students;

- Advocating for high quality education for international students;

- Facilitating network building among stakeholders with an interest in supporting international students;

- Hosting an annual national forum for international students;

- Providing a means of consulting and engaging with international students;

- Hosting international student roundtable events in partnership with various government entities;

- Promoting cross-cultural awareness and interactions in Australia;

- Advocating for non-racial, non-discriminatory law reform concerning international students.

All advocacy services are made available to AAS Members.

The AAS are pleased to announce our alliance with the Council of International Student Australia (CISA), the national peak student representative organisation for international students studying at the postgraduate, undergraduate, private college, TAFE, ELICOS and foundation level.

CISA represent more than 8,165 Singaporean International Students studying in Australia, provides student support and advocacy services, and delivers a networking platform across more than 600,000 international students.

CISA work to be recognised as a holistic voice

for international students in Australia by the

local, national and international community.

More Singaporean students are expected to

head to Australian universities to pursue higher

education. This comes after Singapore agreed to

recognise more Australian degrees in the fields

of law, medicine and allied health, as part of the

Singapore-Australia Comprehensive Strategic

Partnership. This move to recognise a range of

15 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in

these areas from institutions such as La Trobe

CISA represent and advocate for the interests and needs of international students. Through this alliance AAS Members can now receive support and advocacy on a broad number of topics including quality education, immigration, employment/work rights. access to education, travel concessions and accommodation.
