TAN, PETER
Australian Chartered Accountant with over 10 years of experience in the investment-banking field including positions with JP Morgan Chase and Lehman Brothers in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Today Peter is a serial entrepreneur.
In addition to focusing on his young family, Peter is a personal investor and has provided change management services to Westpac Bank (Australia), Bell Potter Securities (Australia), a Singapore publicly listed energy management company, the Australian Department of Defense, a Malaysian property development family company and to IT start-ups.
Peter was fortunate to be given the opportunity to serve on the AAS Management Committee for the past 12 months and is the founder and Chair of the AAS’s Partner University Program that has provided the foundations for rapid scale of the AAS membership to now support more than half of the 140,000 Australian Alumni in Singapore.
Peter is the past President of Murdoch University Alumni, Singapore chapter. He currently serves in Murdoch University’s Singapore Special Advisory Group.
The group provides advice to Murdoch Singapore on its engagement with Government and Industry in Singapore, identifies opportunities that may benefit Murdoch Singapore and the wider Murdoch University community.
Peter was previously recognised by the President of Murdoch University for his contributions of outstanding service to his Alumni.
Peter holds two degrees from Murdoch University – a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Commerce. He is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Certified Information Systems Auditor of the EDP Auditors Association, USA, now ISACA.
Peter commits to Members that he will continue to 1) drive 100% subsidised Memberships for Australian Alumni, 2) to ensure inclusivity of the Partner University Program and provide access paths for all Universities and their members and 3) to ensure that the AAS delivers against the desired Alumni experience.
