What does this character look like?
Sanaubar is described as a beautiful young Hazara woman. Although we don't know much about her we can infer from her behaviour and description that her clothing would be representative to her character of 'woman who likes men'
How could this character's personality be described?
She can be best described as cold and selfish. She has left her child and husband shortly after giving birth to Hassan. She is showing clear signs of apathy and ego-centrism and her character voice should represent these particular traits.
In what chapters does this character appear?
She does not appear as a character in any of the chapters however she is mentioned in chapter two as Hassan's mother and this is where her description is given. Also Rahim Khan mentioned her in his account of Hassan's life after Amir left Afghanistan later on in the novel.
What are the key events in which this character is involved?
Although her actual involvement in the novel is rather limited as she is mainly linked to giving birth to Hassan, her character is a physical representation of moral corruption.
What are this character's relationships with others?
She is Ali's wife who slept with Baba and as a result gave birth to Hassan. Short and simple :)
