What are this character's relationships with others?

Rahim Kahn is Baba's closest friend and is nearly always round Baba's house. He also has a close relationship and understanding with Amir. Throughout the book he plays a fatherly figure to him, which can be exemplified through his actions and how he encourages Amir's writing. Rahim Kahn also had a good relationship with Hassan when he was younger and the relationship becomes stronger after Baba leaves his house to Rahim Kahn and Hassan comes back to live with him. Because Rahim Kahn lived with Hassan and his family he also developed relationships with with Sofia, sanaubar and in particular, Sohrab. There is also mention of a woman he was once in love with, a Hazara.

Rahim kahn does not use regular phrases because of the nature of his character. Rahim looks over everything that happens and has an overview and conclusion of it. This touches back on the point of him being such a wise man. Rahim khan also uses the religious words such as `Inshallah`. Also one of the most comman Afgan word he uses is `Tashakhor`. He uses complex sentence structures and academic vocabulary.

Rahim Kahn is mostly associated with figurative language, such as metaphors. This helps to contribute to his wise and philosophical image and how for him, not everything is black and white.

Rahim's writing is very descriptive and figurative. He almost always has an adjective to describe his nouns.
