A
Garden
Poet?
Well, it’s shocked me too!
For years I have had ideas swimming around in my head waiting to find verse and
place. After a particularly cold winter this year I emerged into spring with energy
unprecedented. Not an adrenalin rush or the kind of feeling you get when you see your
entire garden in white blossom. No, it was permitting myself to be raw and rebellious, a
kind of ‘Bear Grylls’ moment. So after many drafts, edits and reasoning, I have decided
to present thoughts that I have while I garden and share them with you.
I invite your comments and experiences and if you also wish to be daring and
rebellious, share them with me. Ultimately, I would love to create a second book on what
goes through other gardener’s minds as they potter, sweat and play. If you have a story
to tell, a verse, a rhyme, please contact me directly and we can talk about collaborating
in the future.
Enjoy my selected thoughts and remember, let your garden love you back.
