Next Generation Academies (NGAs) were borne out of a need to develop junior footballers across the board, with a particular focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and multicultural talent. Each AFL Club was allocated a geographic zone, with the Saints owning the TAC zones – Sandringham (VIC) and Dandenong (Frankston LGA). NEXT GENERATION COMMUNITY PROGRAMS Schools Programs Various Multicultural & Indigenous Programs Junior Talent Program: Align with local leagues and establish talent programs to enhance junior player development (6-11 years) ELITE TALENT 25 Multicultural & Indigenous participants JUNIOR TALENT (16-18 years) South Metro Junior Football League & TAC CUP NGA Community Programs Sandringham Dragons & Dandenong Stingrays (16-18 years) Community Programs: Grow and develop the game in our region Frankston District Junior Football League (12-15 years) TAC Cup: Mainstream talent pathway for junior talent program graduates Elite Talent Program: Identify and develop Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and multicultural players in our zone who qualify as draft concession players The Saints NGA Community Programs consist of school programs and various multicultural and indigenous football programs that contribute to the growth and development of the game in St Kilda’s NGA zone. 17
