Hiland’s production team is responsible for a variety of jobs including cleaning and maintaining machinery, mixing product ingredients and keeping production areas safe and clean. Team members must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. You must also have basic math skills, follow directions and complete written daily reports. The company’s route drivers act as modern-day milkmen by delivering the company’s products to store shelves for customers to buy. Drivers typically start their day early in the morning to load and check each retail customer’s order. Then, they deliver the products to each client and unload the items. Conner explains that not just anyone can drive for Hiland. “To be a driver for us, you must have a class A commercial driver’s license, be at least 21 years old, have transportation experience and a good driving record. You must also be physically fit.” no artificial growth hormones. They also do everything possible to minimize waste and environmental impact. Hiland recycles milk crates, batteries, tires, oil, paper, cardboard and plastic. It also reduces the use of water and electricity and partners with vendors who share the same commitment to protecting the environment.
