What interests most people is that Raymond is a serious collector. He collects marbles and coins as well as Native American artifacts. It is his passion for Native American pottery and arrowheads called points that drove him for decades to go on outings, searching for Native American objects made for a brief period of a couple of hundred years. Raymond is an expert in Native American pottery and arrowheads. He has had some of his finds published and still attends trading and collecting, legally of course, at shows and events. There are numerous Indian artifacts shows held annually in Missouri, including the Cape Girardeau Indian Artifact Show and one in Bonne Terre.
