Christmas Day last year, my family and I had the privilege to help serve dinner to local families in need. On that day more than 300 people had a wonderful holiday meal, photos with Santa and gifts for the children. My family really enjoyed doing something for others without any benefit or return to themselves — the true spirit of Christmas. Normally I would not mention the charities, help or donations the 573 Magazine or my family provides to our communities, but at this event we met a very special person and I believe we could all learn a little something from her and her big heart. A heart filled with an ability to care about other people without an agenda or something to gain. I believe many churches, charities, businesses and individuals could learn something by this story as well. Meet my dear friend Jennifer Gast and her holiday spirit known as Student Santas.
