The bands at Soval mark the start of true motorcycle country. From this point forward the edge of your tyres will be feeling the love but make sure you take time to actually look around at what you're riding past.

It has been at least 6 years since we'd been down this road and whilst there was little change to it overall, it was all new and refreshing at the time. The beauty of the place with the snow topped mountain backdrop, long sea lochs, eagles, buzzards and fresh (albeit cold) air are biking heaven and that's it in winter! There wasn't a dear in sight that day but add that your ride and it can't get much better.

Past Ballalan and Airidh a' Bhruaich and the climb up the Clisham begins. There are twisting turns, a switchback and fast bends on this mountain before you drop quite dramatically down the other side and into Tarbert with the deep blue of the Atlantic on your right and the mountains claiming the skyline to your left.

Make sure to stop along the way in one of the many parking and viewpoints. On a good day there are amazing views, so if you get them, make the most of them.
