The growth of CB500 racing in Scotland in the last few years has spawned a great deal of diversity and talent. Some seasoned and experienced others completely new to the game. Here we let the riders shoot from the lip and tell us their stories of racing.

Rider: Scott Young

Having tasted the CB500 series, what would be your favourite race, venue and why?

A: East Fortune, it’s a real riders circuit it’s all about braking and getting the drive back on, the CB has to be rode to the maximum to get the times down.

Who in your opinion are the best riders you have been locking horns and elbows with this year, not only on the track but the way they were off track?

A: This being my first year. I had to meet almost everyone for the first time. I set myself a goal that I wanted to try and finish as one of the leading rookies in every race. Andrew Kirkwood has been great competition this year always on my case. There's some seriously quick guys and girls in the class.

Keith Shepherd is one rider I would like to get close to and try to beat. Colvin Denholm, Martin Currah and Allan Brookbanks have been great for advice all season and made me feel welcome at all times. Talking to Jimmy Shanks, Donald Hendry and John has also helped me a lot, very quick men who have given me confidence and help all season.
