56º North April 2019 | Page 85

2019 is looking to be an amazing year, and I can’t wait to get started. I am delighted to have been invited back to the British Talent Cup, and also to be back competing in the FIM CEV Repsol European Talent Cup following last year in the UK in the BSB. This will be my second year racing with Wilson Racing and it’s great to back working with Gary and I’m looking forward to racing with new team mate Fenton Seabright.

I have been training hard over the winter, both in the gym and on the track, to make sure I’m ready for what will be a really high level of competition in both the championships I will be competing in.

The first race of the year will be next week (6th and 7th April) at Estoril for the ETC. The last time I rode there is was really windy so I am hoping the weather might be a bit kinder, but from a look at the forecast just now it looks like it might be quite like the weather at home, so hopefully that will give me a bit of an advantage.

Straight after the race on the Sunday afternoon I fly from Lisbon down to Valencia for the official test with the British Talent Cup.

I love Valencia and can’t wait to meet up with the British Talent team to get started again. This test will be the first time I have been on my BTC bike since the MotoGP at Valencia last year, and will be a chance for me to get the bike set up ready for the first race at Silverstone the weekend of the 21st April.

As this is my second year in the BTC I know what to expect from the start. It was an unbelievable opportunity last year, and I’m hoping that with the work I have put in over the winter that I can be running at the front this year.

I’m also looking forward to racing at another new track this year. I have ridden at all of the ETC tracks already but we found out this week that the BTC has switched the last round originally planned for the Valencia MotoGP in November to Brno in the Czech Republic. Brno is a huge track and very different to the other British tracks we will racing this year so I’ll have lots to learn but I’m also looking forward to visiting another new country with my racing.

The level of talent in the ETC this year is also going to be incredible. I know this is where I want to be racing, and competing against the best young riders from all over the world can only help me develop as a rider.

It will be a tough class competing against some of the top teams, and the level of competition has increased from the first year I raced there, but I know that I have come a long way from my first time out on a Moto3 so just can’t wait for the season to begin.

I wouldn’t be able to do this without the help of my many sponsors including 56’N so can’t thanks them enough for all their support.
