Following a very successful year in the Ducati TriOptions Cup Lewis Rollo has joined the In Competition Aprilia Team for the 2019 season of the Superstock 1000 series run along with the Superbike Championship.

Announcing the sponsorship deal this last month Ilyas Campbell, owner of 56’N said: “Lewis is a very capable young rider and has shown that he has winning potential in every championship he has stepped into. We’ve been impressed with his riding, commitment and enthusiasm for racing. It’s always been our intention to support local riders and Lewis fits perfectly with our sponsorship programs as we aim to increase the visibility of Scottish riders in the years ahead.”

Lewis, from Haddington in East Lothian, had his first outing on an Aprilia aged 13 in the Aprilia Superteens. That year (2012) proved to be a monumental year for the Scot. Lewis won the Championship that many of the modern day greats have cut their teeth in by a huge 312 points margin. He also won all three categories of the Scottish Minimoto Championship for a third year running and Redbull Rookies showed interest in him inviting him to the try outs in which he made it in to the top 50 in the world.

Another big leap in 2013 saw Lewis challenge for the Aprilia IN Competition RRV450GP Championship. He adapted well in a much older and stronger field finishing eighth in the championship even though he missed the last three rounds of the championship due to injury.
