The Women Riders World Relay (WRWR) is a global female biker relay, covering even the most remote and vast parts of our world.

The event is "bringing fun, experience, confidence and a sense of unity to women riders globally and to be an eye-opener of women in Motorsports."

More than 14,000 women worldwide have responded to her call to show the industry the force behind the female biker market.

The Women Riders World Relay started on 27th February 2019 from John O’Groats continuing across the world over the next 12 months with the baton being passed from woman to woman, country to country.

The route across the UK and Ireland took place over 12 days inspiring over 200 women participants, known as Guardians, to carry the hand-carved electronically tagged baton across the first stretch of the relay.

"WRWR is a chance to celebrate and give light to women riders globally while also highlighting their increasing numbers as the fastest growing market in the motorcycle industry”, shares Hayley Bell.

Amongst the Scottish contingent Sue Hodgson rode with the baton from the start point and onwards until it crossed over to Ireland.

"I have just returned from the women Rider's World Relay #WRWR2019 where we started at John o Groat's on 27th February.

"I put on my thermals and rode 350 miles to the beginning at the John O' Groat's signpost.

"We stayed in Inverness and Tyndrum carrying the baton down the full length of Scotland through Aviemore and then on to Cairnryan where three riders continued onto Ireland to be joined by the Irish girls."

To mark the launch of the relay in the UK WRWR hosted two events on International Women’s Day weekend.

Partnering with Ace Cafe in London the baton stopped there on 9th March before heading for the Sittingbourne Speedway where WRWR organised a hands-on, off road motorbike experience for all attendees.

The relay and baton then left for France to continue the journey across Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia, North and Central America.

Over the past weekend the relay had reached Lake Garda in Northern Italy.
