We were under strict orders that we were to familiarise ourselves with the bikes on the first day and not crash, the bike felt good right from the start and I was able to go quick right away without pushing. I later found out that I was in the top 8 riders out of the 23 which I was delighted with. On the Tuesday our timing was put up and we were told to get good times in, I started to push more but so did everyone else and I kept in the top 10. In the afternoon we did a mock race and I was running in 9th position but my times had dropped as I was struggling with the wind that had got really strong. For the last couple of sessions we did time attacks but I really struggled to push as the wind was really affecting me, lots of people improved their times but they were pushing hard and there were lots of crashes. In the end I was just outside the top 10 in the overall times which I was really happy with and makes me confident of going well in the first race at Donington.

Since the test I have been training hard with both my fitness and on the bike, we have also bought me a new training bike to try and get me more time practicing. I was coached in Valencia on how I need to change my riding style to go faster, I was a bit small for my Aprilia 125 and have picked up a couple of bad habits from that which I need to fix. My first race of the year is the British Talent Cup over the Easter weekend at Donington during the British Superbikes. It is going to be an amazing but tough experience as the weather forecast isn’t very good and most of the other riders have a lot of experience there. I’m feeling confident though and will be trying my best.

I really can’t wait.
