Shaun:

February was a month where we had already decided to stay a bit closer to home with baby Angus on the way after out testing in Spain the previous month.

The timing worked our perfectly and I was at home for the last two weeks of Rachel's pregnancy and doctor's appointments before Angus was born which was very important for us particularly as Angus is our first child.

February was a relatively quiet month because I was doing as lot of work closer to home but so long as you are putting in the graft and getting things doen it doesn't matter where you are as you get the job done.

Angus arrived a little earlier than expected on Feb 12th which worked our perfectly as it was the Tuesday before Hawkstone Park and I hadn't been sure about the internationals because we were waiting for Angus to arrive.

It was a very relaxed time and gave me a few days at home with family before driving to Hawkstone park at the weekend for the races.

Hawkstone is always a busy weekend, it's always great to be there and the weather this year was great and brought in a great crowd.

I managed to qualify 2nd and was very happy with that as I hadn't really taken too many risks keeping it nice and steady.

In the first moto I got the holeshot and I was really feeling good. With two laps to go I was still leading but made a little mistake and ended up finishing third in that one as Ansty and Nagl passed my - not a disaster but just a shame not to take a start to finish win.

The second race came up and was much of the same. I got the holeshot again and was passed for the lead on lap 2 by Monticelli who was riding really well. I wasn't too stressed by that whilst I was riding around behind him and he was making a few mistakes that I thought I could capitalise on.

I made a mistake on a jump and the bike highsided and the bike didn't correct itself on landing the way I thought it would and I felt my shoulder pop out of place as I was crashing.

It's a recurring problem that I've had before and a bit of a weak spot on my physical condition. I got it popped back in as quick as possible and knew ti would be sore and stiff for a few days.

Going home from Hawkstone was a bit stressing from the fact that it had happened but I knew it wasn't going to hold me up for too long.
