In 2017 he rode the SSDT with his son on his first outing at the event although as he said himself - he didn't need much coaching.

Neil hadn't really planned on riding the SSDT again and was very happy to support the event as a back marker but has been convinced to bring his extensive experience to the team.

'I hadn't planned on riding the SSDT again and I thought I'd be too old for it by the time my son got involved but here we are ready to go again.

'This is an extra one for me and I'm really looking forward to the challenge of getting the guys around the course.

'It's a challenging event but new riders just have to take it one flag at a time, one day at a time and get to the end of the week in best shape possible.'

There's little doubt that we have one of the most experienced riders in the SSDT and alongside Allan Adamson make a brilliant pairing for our two rookie riders, Graeme Wilson and Duncan Wood.

With just two months to go until the first riders sets off from the waterfront car park in Fort William we're really looking forward to getting the whole team together for a successful competition.
