There is a misconception amongst some riders that the engine noise is what does the most damage to hearing whilst riding. Regardless of how loud your pipes might be the wind noise has the potential to cause much more long-term damage to hearing and obviously that increase with speed. Wind noise on a motorcycle can reach 95dB (and 130dB for motorsports/ spectators) and with permanent hearing damage occurring from only 85dB that’s the main reason that we never rider without hearing protection.
We’ve tried various brands over the years from the simple foam ear plugs to the latest intelligent systems and it’s at this top-end of the scale that we find the Auritech Intelligent Hearing Protection.
