What a weekend I had for Round 3 of the Pirelli Moto Superstock 100 championship at Donington Park!

The weekend started off really well running in 6th during practice and then qualifying 4th on the Saturday for the race just being beaten right at the end of the session for 3rd place by my team mate Levi Day and that was just the beginning of the happy times for the In Competition team.

That was my best qualifying of the year (and for the team) so I was really happy with that going forward to the races.

In the first race I lost a few positions with the setup on the bike but in between the break and in the second half we made a few changes and had better results.

Sunday morning the rain came down and I was really looking forward to the race. I love Donington and the wet suits me also.

I started the race from 8th and getting a good start I took the lead on the first lap and I was feeling really strong. I pulled a lead of 6 seconds but it still felt like the longest race of my life.

I was by myself out front and caught the back-markers passing them and tried to keep it as smooth and flowing as I could.

I really couldn’t believe how it was playing out and was counting down the laps keeping the gap to 2nd place and I had enough of a gap to take it a bit easier on the last two laps to make sure I got to the end and take my first win in Superstock 1000 and at a BSB weekend!

I can’t even begin to thank the In Competition Aprilia team for giving me the ride and for supporting me with all their hard work every weekend. I’d also like to thank all my sponsors including 56’N, family, friends and everyone that has put their trust in me over the years to get me to where I am now.

I’m hoping we can get a few more weekend like that fighting for another win or at the very least a podium through the rest of the season and I’m really looking forward to Brands Hatch and later Knockhill where we are planning some opportunities for you to get a bit closer to the team over that weekend.
