A visit to the 2018 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) is what sparked what was to become Team56N's entry and completion of the 2019 SSDT.

As the premier trials event the SSDT draws in riders and their supporters from across the world competing amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery that Scotland has to offer. It is a spectacular event that deserves much more coverage from local, national and international media.

The logistics alone of having 285 riders, their support crews, the organising committee, observers, route marker, fuel stops, back markers, coordination with all local authorities, land owners, and emergency services is an incredible task that allows an event of this scale to take place so smoothly.

With that in mind and before discussing the events of the week we have to give a massive thanks to everyone involved in the organising of the SSDT, including Sandy Mack and all of those behind the scenes and out of sight and to John Moffat (Trials Guru) for the work he does promoting the sport - and for the interviews he did with the team on the final day.

As we come to the 2019 event we had a few objectives - to support two rookie riders through the Six Days with the guidance and mentoring of two experienced riders; to increase the exposure of the event.

Did we achieve what we set out to do? Yes we did, and then some!

Graeme Wilson and Duncan Wood did us proud as our rookies at times (some would say often) riding beyond their abilities but sticking the course and taking on each section as best they could.

We couldn't be more proud of the effort they put into the event and of the efforts made by Neil Dawson and Allan Adamson, not only achieving First Class Awards but also for the assistance and guidance they gave to Graeme and Duncan throughout the week.

To take on the SSDT is an achievement but to do that whilst assisting someone else is an effort that is simply off the charts!
