Perth Bike Night

A double header in May as the April delayed due to the weather.

The weather played it's hand at the end of April forcing a one week delay of 2019's first Perth Bike Night.

Sponsored by 56'N the event eventually went ahead on Star Wars day (May 4th) raising funds for Finding your Feet - a Scottish charity supporting families affected by amputation or limb difference, through a range of sporting initiatives and social inclusion projects. The charity runs over 50 clubs per month in Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Leeds.

Unfortunately with the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) starting the following day in Fort William our tea was unable to attend on the night but we made a donation to the charity to make up for missing the event.

The weather was kinder on the night and the turn-out from the biking community was impressive as was the £1,858.56 raised for Finding Your Feet so we want to pass on a big thanks to Karen Grey for organising these events, Noah's Ark for proving the venue and all those bikers that attended for their generosity and banter.

Ducati's night was the next one up held on May 25th. That ever reliable Scottish weather threw a bit or a curve ball at it leaving it a soggy event but still well attended.

Ducati's night was raising funds for Brothers in Arms - a charity offering support to men in Scotland, of any age, who are down or in crisis and empowers them to ask for help when they need it, without feeling a failure if they do.

Although it was a damp and soggy night, spirits were high as the focus on the night was on raising money for Brothers In Arms..

Even with the weather effecting attendance numbers, with only 40 riders braving the torrential rain, an incredible £400 was raised on the night for Brothers In Arms.

Both events had some great raffle prizes to kick off what looks like another great year for Perth Bike Night.

The next event will be held on June 29th, this time sponsored by a private individual, raising funds for SCOTSERVS The Medical Transport Charity.
