With the plethora of TV shows and auction houses
airing their exploits, these cars, and the history of
automobiles, now plays out in front of many who
never gave them a second thought. Classic cars and the
business we are in has come into the national spotlight
through TV and internet, engaging the masses.
We have purchased numerous cars from their original
owners who purchased them new when they were
in their 50’s , 60’s but often find themselves in their
mid-70s, and haven’t driven their beloved automobile
in many years. Whether it’s the original owner or their
heirs; that’s how many of these cars come to market.
The type of “wheeler dealer” business as seen on the
TV shows, is not how we do business. We never go
to meet a seller with the mentality of “beating them
up” for the sake of lowering their asking price. We
are professionals, and know what we can pay for
something based on market research.
All transactions are done with decency and respect.
While it is uncommon, there have been times we
have actually paid more than the asking price. In
those instances, the seller was ill informed as to their
vehicle’s value. The rule is that both seller and buyer
must be happy with the transaction.
