EDITOR’S LETTER
Spreading Her Love
As I began to put this issue together, my family and
I were struck with the sad reality that our dog's can-
cer was taking its toll. Kenya, our beloved 14 year old
Labrador Retriever's, time was up. We all knew this day
would come but it’s the day you wish never would. Her
love was like nothing else, unconditional in every sense
of the word. Unparalleled. The outpouring of love from
friends, our readers, family near and far was incredible,
if not surprised because Kenya was an old soul, a gentle
soul. She had the ability to touch so many people’s lives,
to spread her love to everyone she came in contact with,
whether you liked dogs or not. Experiencing loss is
difficult but part of the circle of life so we must carry
on and slowly begin to heal with beautiful memories of
a life well lived. Forever in our hearts.
I thought it only fitting to SHARE a beautiful poem
our friend wrote in this issue, as not only a tribute to
Kenya (The Vine, page 50), but for all of us who have
experienced loss. Not today or tomorrow, but down the
Kenya relaxing in our pool house
road, may gratitude be the grace that finds and guides you
to the better you have become, from those we have lost.
Spreading Kenya's love to all our readers this fall season!
