Will You...

by Samantha Mathura

Sometimes when I think of you, I see the stars and the moon,

Sometimes it’s uplifting, to get lost in the view

At times it feels like we’re worlds apart though you willingly invade my heart.

Secretly I wait each day, hoping you’ll walk my way.

It’s getting harder to stay the same for I age each day.

Days have gone by, seasons have changed history though will always remain.

If you shall only embrace me with the grace of your shadow

I shall not morn; I shall not fall to my knees.

For many moons apart we have lived secretly dwelling on what could and possibly will never be.

If I am not worthy of your true self, acceptance I shall embrace.

For I will not become victim to an object of deceit,

I will stand tall and never will I reveal the truth of my purity.

Mark my words kind Sir, for the period of waiting is long overdue

Will you or would you not be more than that of a shadow?

Questions of the heart… though if left unanswered my soul shall fly free and you will become my history.
