BLAINE MARCANO

I consider myself a man of many talents, serious and focused I believe in getting the job done. Photography reveals my softer side, my creativity; the expression of my need to let things in life be and to be a part of it. My desire is to show a different perspective through my photos, and to capture obvious moments that are often never considered. I have experimented with a few different styles but my favorite is definitely doing portraits - especially shots of facial expressions that show a little of what’s on the inside of us – a bit of personality.

Why did you join 30dac?

Why did I join 30dac? *I smile to myself* because you told me to, and in a sense I didn't have a good enough excuse to give myself a reason not to. Lee invited me and I gave a hesitant - yes.

The challenge seemed easy enough and though I wasn’t quite sure of what I was getting into, I remembered my friend, a poet, who did a similar challenge for the month of April (2013) and it was exciting and demanding for her. My expectations were simple; if I participated then I’ll have new material to start a blog, at least 31 pieces anyway. My experience however surpassed my expectation. Needless to say, I now have my 31 pieces but the best part has been the journey.

30dac has raised my standards for the work I produce and unbridled my ability to express myself. In retrospect, only a few of my July (2013) pieces really speak to me anymore, meaning I’d probably have to do another challenge. The feeling is bittersweet.
