I spent the happiest moments of my childhood running around barefoot "in the bush", climbing trees, sliding down cascades and bathing in the village streams. Even when the cold water turned me into a shivering prune and everything looked white and blurry, or I became hungry - I didn't want to leave. That's still me. I'm happiest outdoors--in nature. Most of my work originates from my natural environment. It's the place that generates creativity, that produces marvels and harvests good dreams.

Why did you join 30dac?

I received an invitation, from the Lovely Lee Ann Sanowar, to participate in the first 30-Day Art Challenge. I read the rules and understood it's purpose but of course thought about all the things that I was dealing with, all the things I needed to get done, and all the concurrent events and projects that would present their own challenge. I hadn't been focused on creating much of anything truly personal around that time and imagined that the event would encourage me to improve my photography, craftmanship and drawing, and also explore and experiment with my other artistic interests - so I decided to take it on.

I was enlivened and productive as well as empty and desperate, at times. Ideas didn't just manifest. I spent many wonderful days actively seeking inspiration, hardpressed and anxiously thinking up ideas for the next due submission. I became more engaged with my surroundings and thoughts, and was more cognizant of my mood that was as simple as being affected by the sun or having a rhythm in my head that developed into an intensified urge to dance - and I would try to illustrate that.

It was exciting opening each new album and checking out posts for the day. I discovered some amazing artists, viewed some truly beautiful and intriguing work, and made some delightful connections. It was entirely positive. For me it was ''evolutionary'' and awesome.
